Nothing brings us more joy than our fur babies! In this 3.5 hours class, artist Cori Jaye Elston will help you execute a portrait of your favourite furry friend or animal. Learn how to use a grid technique to plan your canvas for sketching the preliminary line drawing. You will then select and plan your colour palette. The first half of the class will be dedicated to the preparation of your canvas for painting. In the second half, Cori will assist you with any questions or technique issues you encounter while executing your portrait.

MAWA HUMAN ANIMAL: Members' Showcase

“This September, MAWA will host a members’ showcase and sale entitled Human Animal. Each MAWA member can submit one piece for exhibition on the theme of “fauna” and our relationship to it.

Human Animal will provide an opportunity for members to show small works, including works-in-progress and sketches, and to sell their work at a price of their choice with all proceeds going to the artist. MAWA will accept all forms of payment on the artist's behalf and will mail the artist a cheque for 100% of the sale following the exhibition." -MAWA

Come create a landscape painting of your personal cabin, or perhaps a cabin that is special to you. 17th Annual Art From the Heart Show and Sale

The 17th Art from the Heart Show and Sale will take place on February 9th and 10th, 2018 in the Axworthy Health and RecPlex at the University of Winnipeg. The show will exhibit new works by local artists creating opportunities for artists and visitors to share their skills, expertise and knowledge, fostering creative collaborations, mutual support, and a sense of community among participants.

For Art lovers in Winnipeg this community economic development initiative is a great opportunity to support Art from the Heart artists and to purchase some really great local art. Through the 17th Show and Sale, all participating artists are given the opportunity to sell their work with 100% of proceeds paid to selling artists.
